Stormwater Mud and Debris in a Somerville Basement

Basements typically bear the brunt of flooding from foul weather conditions in the Somerville area of New Jersey. Since our SERVPRO technicians take seriously our slogan of We're Faster To Any Size Disaster, we quickly arrived and pumped out the inch or so on standing water. We can then work on the sludge left behind to clear the area in preparation for the rebuild. The flood cuts have removed the non-salvageable drywall panels about six inches above the water line. We check with moisture meters to ensure that no dampness remains--an invitation for mold development. A biocide has been applied to the affected walls, and an air scrubber, a dehumidifier, and several air movers are completing the drying process. Homeowners are secure knowing that the basement is documented as dry according to baseline readings and soon enough it will be "Like it never even happened.”
